Barbara J. Goldsmith, Director
Ad-Hoc Industry Natural Resource Damage Group


Barbara J. Goldsmith founded the Ad-Hoc Industry Natural Resource Damage Group (Group) in 1988, working in cooperation with some major industrial companies, and she has served as Director since its inception. She also serves as President of Barbara J. Goldsmith & Company LLC, a consulting firm specialized in national and international environmental policy issues and corporate environmental management. She has extensive background and experience related to natural resource damage (NRD) liability, assessment, restoration and associated legal, technical, policy and regulatory issues. As the key point of contact for the Group, Ms. Goldsmith has provided briefings and participated in meetings and conferences on NRD and related issues involving many hundreds of individual industrial companies, business and industry trade associations, Federal and State Government departments and agencies, the European Commission and the competent authorities of all Member States of Europe. She has responsibility for overseeing all communications, meetings, research and other activities of the Group, including its extensive collaborations within the industrial community worldwide, and between industry and other stakeholder groups and individuals. In her role as Director, Ms. Goldsmith works with an elected Executive Committee and numerous other committees of the Group.
