Natural Resource Damage Assessment & Restoration Practice Exchange

This Practice Exchange (formerly called Forum) is sponsored by the Ad-Hoc Industry Natural Resource Damage Group in cooperation with NOAA, US DOI and representatives of the State Trustee community. This website has been established as a mechanism for facilitating communication between natural resource trustees, the industrial community, and others engaged in the conduct of Natural Resource Damage Assessments (NRDAs) and related matters under CERCLA, OPA and other federal and state laws. This website is intended to provide a focal point for exchanging information on NRD-related meetings and selected NRDA practice issues. Other issues may be added in the future.

Over the past several years, there have been a series of meetings hosted by US DOI, NOAA, the Ad-Hoc Industry Natural Resource Damage Group, API and others. Some of these meetings have generated excellent ideas for further joint exploration, notably related to NRDA practice, with an emphasis on cooperative efforts targeted at expeditious and cost-effective restoration of resources. In the spirit of “connecting the dots” between the various agendas and conserving resources, we invite users of this website to forward information on relevant meetings to us for posting here. We also invite users to identify any NRDA practice issues for which it would be useful to have some “bulletin board” type exchange (including case examples, as appropriate) among the various groups using this website.

Please forward your input and suggestions via e-mail to group@nrdonline.com. To keep this website useful and up to date, we need input from government, industry and other interested parties.
